When You Visit the Museum

Visit the Eye Doctor's Office!
You can . . .

Be a performer! Play the giant full-octave pan pipe or dress up in costumes and put on a play in the theater!

Explore the Visual Arts! Try your hand at printmaking, self-portrait drawing, pipe cleaner sculpture, and optical art!

Play with science. Science exhibits change three times each year. Currently at the museum:
Exploring Vision sponsored by the Center of Vision Development, The Upper Cumberland Optometric Society, The Algood Lions Club, The Overton County Lions Club, and The Cookeville Evening Lions Club.

Play Veterinarian! Sick animals need your care! Wear a lab coat, take a look at real animal x-rays on the light box and tend to the animal patients.

Visit a farm. Pick apples from a life-size tree and gather eggs in the barn. Take your produce to the local farm stand, where you can sell it to your customers using a realistic cash register--complete with scanner, play money, and a credit card machine! After a busy day of selling and shopping, take a break in the playhouse, where you can cook and set the table.

Go outside. The museum has a full-sized, fenced-in yard with a giant play structure. Climb the wall, scale two castle towers, play on the slide, or swing on the swings!
